Offline Document Scanner
No Internet Required

Scan, organize, and export documents anywhere in the world — even without a Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Your data stays on your device, always.

Why Offline Matters

Most document scanner apps rely on cloud servers to process your scans. That means if you lose your internet connection — on a flight, in a rural area, or inside a building with poor reception — the app becomes useless. Worse, your sensitive documents are uploaded to third-party servers where you have little control over how they are stored, who can access them, or how long they are retained.

ScanFlow was built differently from the ground up. Every core function — scanning, cropping, filtering, OCR text recognition, PDF creation, merging, and organizing — runs entirely on your device. There is no cloud dependency. There is no server processing. Your documents never leave your phone or tablet unless you explicitly choose to share or export them.

Complete Privacy by Design

When your documents are processed locally, privacy is not a policy — it is a technical guarantee. ScanFlow does not collect your scan data, does not send analytics about your documents, and does not require an account to function. This makes it ideal for scanning contracts, medical records, financial statements, identification documents, and any other sensitive paperwork.

For professionals working in healthcare, law, finance, or government, offline processing is not just a convenience — it is often a compliance requirement. ScanFlow helps you meet data residency and privacy regulations by ensuring that document data never touches external servers.

Where Offline Scanning Shines

  • Traveling abroad without roaming data — scan receipts, boarding passes, and travel documents on the go.
  • Working in remote or rural locations — field researchers, construction teams, and inspectors can digitize paperwork on site.
  • Inside secure facilities — government buildings, hospitals, and corporate offices where Wi-Fi access is restricted.
  • Poor connectivity situations — underground, in transit, or during network outages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ScanFlow need internet to scan documents?

No. ScanFlow works completely offline. You can scan, crop, apply filters, run OCR, create PDFs, merge documents, and organize your files without any internet connection. All processing happens directly on your device.

Are my scans uploaded to a cloud server?

No. Your scans are stored locally on your device by default. ScanFlow does not upload documents to any server. If you want cloud backup, you can manually export to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive — but this is always your choice, never automatic.

Does OCR work offline too?

Yes. ScanFlow uses on-device OCR powered by your phone's built-in machine learning capabilities. Text recognition runs locally, meaning your document content is never sent to an external service for processing.
